Two years in the making, our Drifter is a big, messenger-style bag with features that make it the perfect all-purpose bag for anglers, travelers, students, and more. You can use it as a boat bag for your gear on the drift, sling it over one shoulder and on your back while you fish, as your carry-on for travel, or for everyday needs.
After watching guides on Wyoming’s Grey Reef, we wanted to provide a bag big enough to haul the big stuff, the small stuff, and everything in between. So, we designed the core compartment of the bag is sized specifically to carry two Cliff Bugger Beast flyboxes with room to spare for other important gear or a few small/thin flyboxes.
The body of the bag is fully padded with Volara Grade foam to give the bag structure and to protect contents.
Inside the main compartment is a pleated, 500D American Cordura laptop sleeve large enough to hold computers up to 15″ Wide (actual width, not monitor size) with ease.
We designed the face to keep tools and other key gear handy for guides and other anglers – building in two core tool anchors on either side of a wide webbing loop for use with our ARC Accessories (ARC Tippet Pack is PERFECT here). Then, we added in four other zinger / tool loops, and two 550 Paracord clip to / pinch on loops – giving you six other anchor points for tools, weight, etc., and four placement options for secure holding of your hemostats. Two additional pockets also are on the face: 1) a spring-top pocket for quick access, and 2) a deep, zippered pocket for secure keeping of everything from leader wallets to power cords.
The multi-layer 1000D / 500D Cordura top flap (with built in raingear sleeve) secures with two side-release buckles that are tied into a specially designed front compression system. We built this with slider buckles that can be used to keep the buckles in the “ready-to-clip” position at all times to make it easy to open AND close the bag with one hand (and without fishing around for the other strap). Because of how these sliders work, additional webbing can be pulled through BELOW the slider, giving you loops through which you can slide rod tubes, cinch them down, and securely carry them wherever you’re going.
The base of the bag was built for abuse. It has 3 layers of the heaviest and most durable fabrics we use, a layer of Volara grade foam padding, and is reinforced with three strips of heavy-duty, American woven webbing for lasting durability.
Each side of the bag comes with a heavy-duty stretch pocket for water bottles or other important items.
The removable shoulder strap is adjustable to fit almost anyone, but can be quickly removed to get rid of the potential for line tangles in your boat.
All in all, this bag holds a lot of gear, carries well, and will last for years to come.
Every pack is hand-built to order in our workshop using 1000D American woven Cordura fabrics and American made hardware, straps, and closures. Even the thread used to sew your pack is American Made. We’re looking forward to building yours!
