ASFMC in May

ASMFC’s Spring Meeting will take place during the week of May 11, down in Alexandria, Virginia. The Atlantic Striped Bass Management Board will meet on the 13th, when it will hopefully put together a draft addendum to the fishery management plan that will determine how bass will be managed for the rest of this decade.

Via CCA MD:

The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission is meeting next Tuesday in Alexandria, VA, and is expected to approve new reference points for striped bass. This is an essential step in managing striped bass. CCA MD is sending a letter to the three Maryland members of the commission urging them to act now to adopt reference points identified in the earlier benchmark stock assessment of the fishery.
"There is much that must be done and little time to do it," the letter cautioned. Read the complete letter
