Trip Day #6

No fishing today, just some scouting. I headed into TW's Tackle in Nags Head and found a steal on a new Shimano surf casting rod. Its a 12' Tiralego I got for only $20, it was on sale of course. The people were excellent and heard some awesome stories of guys catching Cobia right off the beach up to 70 lbs down in Hatteras. Unfortunately I'm here to fly so I doubt I'll make that trip this time. Some other guy came in and claims to have caught a 9ft Sand Tiger last night on squid.

I also managed to get my hands on a product I know a lot of people are dying for, the GoPro Dive Housing. Real Watersports in Rodanthe, one of the sickest places I've ever been to, was carrying it so when I spotted it, I bought it like that (especially since it was the last one). I've been trying to get one for about 2 weeks now and everyone says they will ship at the end of the summer. Guess premium dealers get their stuff quick... Here's the backyard of Real Watersports. I'll post more pics of it when the album goes up at the end of the trip.

Im going to hit up New Inlet and Oregon Inlet tomorrow on the flats, it was nice to see some guys wading out to fly today, very encouraging. Apparently a bunch of people are hooking up on "houndfish" aka Needlefish aka the "Inlet Marlin" because of how they tail talk and jump. i'll keep y'all posted on how it goes.

Boom...Morgan
