Fish Art: Bill Elliott Wildlife Art

So if you've never heard of him, Bill Elliott is a great artist. He's got that classical style of art with a little bit of a modern touch (current equipment/gear painted in). Check out Bill's biography...

"Not many people wake up every day looking forward to getting back to work, I have been so lucky that my job has allowed me to take my love of the Outdoors and translate it into a living through my paintings and drawings. After serving my time in the military I returned to Civilian life and took a position as Art Director at the Bronx Zoo where I worked on many truly interesting projects, the five years that I spent at the zoo gave me the time to hone my drawing skills of so many different species of wildlife. After leaving the zoo I spent the next 15 years doing Illustrations for all the major magazines and book publishers, during that time I moved my family to Chambersburg PA. A small city located in the Cumberland Valley. It was here that I experienced quality Trout fishing and Upland game bird hunting. These experiences led me to produce a series of 12 hand colored lithographs all of which sold out. The series was made up of 4 upland game birds, 4 fresh water fish and 4 salt water fish, this last group lead me to where I am today. Having no experience with salt water fish caused me to call on a close friend Lefty Kreh, who through his help opened so many doors for me which allowed me to gain the experience I needed to finish this series of prints. After catching my first Tarpon on fly I was hooked, my family and I now moved to South Florida where I have spent the last 25 years catching and painting every species of Salt Water fish that would take a fly. As the years passed I found myself looking for new challenges and before long I found myself casting to fish in Africa and South America. Over the last few years my early experiences have brought me full circle and I find myself back painting Hunting Dogs and scenes of Trout and Salmon. So I guess it must be true that if you live long enough your life will bring you back to where you first began."

  4. " That Browning cared a great deal for nature is explicit in beautiful artistic descriptions of the moon which he found most "noteworthy". wildlife
