Anyone Got a 36in Pike in Their Fly Box

Holy S...you gotta check out this Pike and post from Trouterspace...

Big Appetite for a Big Pike!

Just in case you haven’t seen these photos yet, these were taken two years ago on a lake in northern Canada.  This record breaking pike clamped on to a 36 inch pike that had been hooked, and this very lucky angler got the net under both fish!  I just wanted to remind people that there is no shame in fishing for pike.  Some people put these fish in the “garbage fish” category.  Some complain that they’re stupid or easy to catch, but I’ve seen big pike follow and refuse many offerings.  As with most fish the big ones have learned a thing or two along the way and will not be fooled easily.

Anyone got a 36inch pike fly in their box?

Boom...Morgan

  1. Craziness! What a catch! And from my experience, pike and carp provide the most difficult fishing I've yet to experience...so there's that. Garbage fish? Easy to catch? I think not. :)

    1. Thanks for the comment EMB! Easy catch, no (simply based off my understanding and conversations with others). Garbage fish, hell no! Awesome fish, powerful, the gator fish!
