Trip Report...Thomas Point Lighthouse and Poplar Island

Check it, so LS and I headed out for some fishing on Monday night. Right out of the gate, at Thomas Point Light, we spotted birds diving. Pulled up on 'em and there were school Stripers hitting bait sporadically around the light. After a few casts we decided to move on, the current was ripping and the boat was getting pushed was too close to the rocks. We headed over to Poplar Island to spot some more birds but they really weren't congregating. As we pulled about the from of the island, we spotted the mother load, bird going nuts and fish popping the water. After only a few casts, the first Bass was in the boat, only about 16", but a fish. A few more were brought in but due to the falling tide, we had to head in so we wouldn't get stuck in the mud. A trip is planned for later this week and possibly another next week. I'm still waiting for that cow...Check the pictures.
